tacky souvenirs

Michael Hughes is a photographer who is working on a project where he photographs cheap souvenirs in place of the real thing. Simple, lighthearted and fun thing to do while he travels the world, but he does it very well. He's got a pretty impressive body of work too.

Web Hosting and Domain Names

Hey Friends,

I'm sure as school ends and we all begin to freak out more, the question of hosting a website must have popped up in your mind from time to time. For those of you who don't have one yet and are looking for hosting and domains, my flash professor recommended Dreamhost.com. They are really straightforward and receive a lot of praise for their transparency when problems occur. Very customer friendly.  You also get a free domain name when you sign up, and they include a Wordpress app that makes setting up a blog under your domain a cinch. 

In any case if you use the  promo code: GAC   when signing up you will save almost fifty bucks on the yearly rate. Comes to about $5.80 a month. 

Look into it cause we could all use portfolio sites.

An event happening at the ICA this sat that looks like it would be interesting... if you have the 25 for the ticket to get in. There are a bunch of main stage talks including "The Obama Effect: what art did for advertising" "Culture and Resistance" and "Elegant Dissent and Anarchy."
As well as several other speakers, book signings, Discussions on Shepard Fairy's work, ect...
